That’s the lovely Jean Kennedy-Smith, 84, the last surviving sibling of President Kennedy, as she appeared last night at the NYC premiere of “Ethel,” a film based on her sister-in-law, Ethel Kennedy.

In February 2011, President Obama awarded her the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor, for her work with people with disabilities.

Jean is a widow. She was at the Ambassador Hotel when her brother Bobby (Ethel’s husband) was assassinated in 1968. Her son William was tried and acquitted of rape in 1991.

Jean was the Ambassador to Ireland under President Clinton. Jean is on the board of the Kennedy Center, whose honorees this year are: bluesman Buddy Guy, actor and director Dustin Hoffman, comedian and television host David Letterman, ballerina Natalia Makarova, and rock band Led Zeppelin. Really. Led Zeppelin.
